Guess my POP add deleater thing I installed a few yrs ago doesn`t work. HMMMM.

Yeah I was referring to the BW forum that has all the highlighted words, kind of annoying. Doesn`t really make me want their product.

Dang, now I have a Toyota add and a weight loss program. maybe need that to squeeze into these new wind up cars.

If you are using Firefox, install the latest version of Firefox and under Tools/options/content check "Block pop-up windows". Then install the Adblock plus extension and the Adblock Plus Popup add-on. More info at http://adblockplus.org/en/

With this setup, no ads here or on BW.

I believe you can do something similar with other browsers, but I don't use them much.

Unfortunately I do most of my web browsing on an iPad and it does not support any ad blockers. If anyone knows how to kill the ads on an iPad I am all ears.

On my main computer I use Firefox and AdBlock plus. That pretty much wipes it all out.

That other forum with the green underlined words is absolutely unusable on an iPad since not only do you get the green underlines but a hovering ad on every one of them.

What's even worse is the behavior on other sites.
I can't stand the way it forces you into the "mobile" version just because it detects you are on an iPad. OnSwipe is the scourge of the earth, if you have an iPad you know what I am talking about. Or hovering ads that sit on top of what you are trying to read, and the actual "close" X is one pixel by one pixel, surrounded by active pixels that take you to the ad when you think you are hitting the X.

I think it's ironic when the banner ad at the top or bottom is for that site that is (another word for stone and) auto.

Lately I have been getting ads for deals on Toyotas or Nissans at a dealer 100 miles from me. I have never searched on or been to that dealer's website so I cannot explain why I get those.

I don't know what's worse, the fact that there are so many ads, or the fact that it knows where you've been and parrots that back to you in the form of ads.
