1995 E300D Monovalve Problem

Thanks Maxbumpo,

It lasted an extra week without any visible further breakage and I did not loose much water. Put in the warranty replacement yesterday - let's see how long it goes

Unfortunately due to picking labels from the warehouse on the box I was not able to see a production date.

You can replace with older and cheaper valve from older w124 diesel (om603). Then just loop coolant to other side of engine.

This valve was probably used to reduce engine temperature fluctuations and therefore reduce emmisions. It is not necessary on 20 year old car.

Chris, do you have any pictures of what the retrofit to the older monovalve would look like on the OM606? I've got hot air out the side vents now and I'm assuming its the monovalve. Probably need to take it apart this weekend.

Thanks,
Andrew
