I don't know, haven't crossed that bridge yet. But the answer would be - quite a lot.

7000.00?

For POS's car? If I needed to replace my TD, I'd pay that in 2 seconds,
without even a second thought. If it is as good as it seems in the pics
I wouldn't even balk at 10,000, perhaps more, but with no job after 25 years, now it would be out of my league.
That's the thing about our cars, there isn't anything out there now at any price that is potentially as worthy as our OM617 powered cars.

My 85 300TDT Euro... It would be expensive. Even though it needs to be loving gone over, and it will be after I finish my 87 300d, It's just so unusual that I doubt I would ever let it go. I fully rebuilt the front suspension, gave it new tires and brakes... other than that it's really needed nothing and I've put over 20k on it. The fact is has factory underbody protection, alarm, manual sunroof, actual leather, 3rd row seating and all the head rests, the automatic climate control and power windows (yes on a euro) I like the fact that everything on the car is in German. I like the fact that I drive it @ 75mph an hour each way to work everyday and still get 28mpg. By far my favorite w123 I've owned to date. I guess I would be in the 9-10k range, only because I wouldn't let it go for less even with 225k on it.

Picture from original ad. I need to take some new ones of it..

My 87 300D I've offed the car for sale in the past when it was original and had a bad head. nobody wanted it. I fixed the head, gave it a new water pump and a bunch of other new bits, Bought a 94 e3s0 and have been swapping everything over from it to the 87 after completely striping the 87 and gin gin it a new full black paint job... car is looking amazing now and is again not for sale. I'll drive it till it falls apart under me. BUT if someone came along with a hand full of 100's say about 60 of them, I might consider it, but as I get deeper into it the price would only go up.

So far...

The 300TD I restored last summer and should not have sold... Got 5k for it. But the good news was I turned around and used a little of that to buy the current 300TDT that I love even more...

Before

After

All that's left is the engine, I'd say $2,000 since it has been recently refreshed, ported head, and VNT, methanol injection, etc.

After working on my 85 300D for about a year on and off, I have started to think that it will probably never be as good as it is now while \I still own it. Maybe someone else should continue the TLC?

I was offered $1500 last Fall when the car had significant rust (but not on sheetmetal). Paint is very good and engine has only 60k miles since rebuild. I have spent at least $3k on rust repairs and other upgrades, never mind the hours of work I have put in. Just to break even dollar wise, I would need to get $4500. But really would ask $5k which also happens to be the agreed value it is insured for.

More than likely, I will just keep driving the car (mainly in summer) and give my 72 SL a break.
