LOL

Roy,
I started reading your "for sale" and thought, "wow that would be cool
to have a minimalist 240 like that", even thought about the high geared
85 rearend powered by a 240 ( great mileage ). I fell hook line and sinker
until I got to the bottom, lol

85--last of the line, perfect running engine/tranz, desirable color (but need the paintjob), rust free from the southwest. Ide sell for around what I paid for it, and sell all the goodies seperately , wheels , dash , bumpers , kit.
But reality is I dont get into situations where I have to sell something like that.

Good one!

Considering inflation, my CDI is worth at least $250,000

When my E300 is done with the head gasket, it's virtually cosmetically and mechanically perfect. Upstate NY originally, never driven in winter and got it for $19,500 cash in 2004 and never drove it snow after I bought it. Put 50,000 miles on it since 2004. It's also got every option except orthopedics and parktronic (going to be installed soon) including Navigation installed from the factory. I'd ask about $10,000 as you wouldn't find a better E300 anywhere. Then again I won't sell this car ever. I'll be picking up a E320 gas 210 soon that I can drive in winter to beat and won't feel bad.

I've lost a good amount of blood on my 220D so that's worth a few hundred. Initial cost of the car plus all the improvements I've done (parts only) adds up to about $6000.
Then there's the fact that I love the car so I think labor + parts/car cost + sentimental value = $18,000. That sounds fair to me. If someone offered me $10,000 today I would think about taking the offer but then I'd be starting all over again and it is really dang hard to find a pre-1973 (I want vent wings) nearly rust free for as little as I got mine for.

I don't plan on selling either of my diesels, if they leave me its going to be part by part! I suppose I could be swayed by 2k for the 300SD and maybe 3k for the 190d conversion. The 420 I'd want 4k as its nearly perfect.
