Is "Limited Slip" Gear Ok '86 W126 SDL

Looking to change my differential oil. Purchased some "synthetic" 75 - 90wt gear oil and did not notice the "Limited Slip" label.

Is this stuff ok to use with my SDL? I don't know if the differential (stock) is Limited Slip or ?

Thanks in advance!

Quick check for limited slip: Chock front wheels, place transmission in neutral and release parking brake. Jack up one rear wheel, then try to turn it. If it turns, you don't have a limited slip diff.

The 300SDL never came with the LSD. Out of the W126es, only some 560SELs got them (in the US, that is).

yes, the oil is fine to use. it's overkill, as you do not have LS, but it is fine to use in normal spider diff.

Thanks for the advice - Synthetic Limited Slip GearOil OK

No limited slip as you all have indicated i.e. test and raw knowledge

Thanks John for the straight answer to my question.

I'm going with the synthetic just because I have it already and there does not seem to be any ill potential.

As always.... thanks agin!
