you may want to include mileage and a bit of lifetime maintenance to help us understand how the car has lived its life.

Oil in the coolant is typically a sign of a failing head gasket, you may also want to check your oil for signs of coolant. Instead of deep black the oil will take on a frothy coffee color and be sludgy.

It is important to decide what type of oil you are seeing. It could be engine oil, transmission fluid, or even old fashioned Barr's Leaks which had oil in it to lube the water pump seal. The most likely source of engine oil is a failed head gasket. The most likely source of transmission oil is a leak in the transmission cooler in the radiator.

Check for mayonnaise on the underside of the oil filler cap.

I had a small block Chevy engine that had that coating on everything under the valve cover and my heart broke when I saw it.
