W123 Wheel Hub Diameter?
Does anyone know the hub diameter on W123? Seems Google was a little short on a definitive answer
|
On my W123 steel trailing arms (rear) the diameter is 16 cm.
The front hubs on my W201 are only 14 cm, however, even though they have the same bolt hole PCD as the W123 I don't have a measurement for the front W123 hub yet. If I see one in the garage tomorrow I'll grab it and measure it... ...please do something really exciting and interesting with this boring knowledge! |
LOL!!! Thanks Stretch!!
I will be using this information to machine the hub in the center of a set of wheels I recently acquired |
Wow - hang about!
I've given you the diameter of the hub => http://www.peachparts.com/shopforum/...ing-fitted.jpg not the diameter of the disc (brake) / rotor. Which do you need? |
Sorry, probably should have specified. I need the diameter of the center portion of the hub. The area that the center of the wheel sits on.

The W123 has a funny system. The front wheels look like this =>
http://i204.photobucket.com/albums/b...er/brakeb4.jpg or a bit like this without the vented disc http://i204.photobucket.com/albums/b...nger/right.jpg (Both pictures borrowed from this thread http://www.peachparts.com/shopforum/diesel-discussion/219520-upgrading-w123-1st-generation-w126-brakes.html) The disc brake is bolted to the inner side of the hub. On the back, however, the discs are more conventionally bolted to the outer side of the hub so for the backs you need a bigger diameter than the value I've posted. If nobody else can help I'll dig about in my garage tomorrow and find the front hub diameter. If you use that value then you'll always be able to fit your wheels to the front and the back hubs |
Think I might just bite the bullet and get out my calipers and measure it. Probably the most accurate way to do it any way. Thanks you sir!

Looks like the answer is 66.56mm. At least according to this thread. I'm going to measure anyway and will report my findings. Sent from my EVO using Tapatalk |
Sorry I got a bit stuck with other stuff yesterday - today is the day!

The diameter of the rear brake disc section that is mounted over the hub is 17cm I'm sorry I can't find my W123 front hubs any where - they must be in the crawl space under the living room floor - I'm not going down there! If no body else can help you'll have to take the wheel off of your car and measure it yourself. |
