Yeah just read both those things about purple power and oven cleaner.....some people even use purple power to remove paint so I am going back to the chalk board on this......

When you use oven cleaner you have to rinse THOROUGHLY then spray the part with WD40 or similar. Never had an issue with aluminum corrosion as long as I did that. I'll agree that it's nasty stuff.
