That's a good price. I could use a welder!

Wow this cart is heavy lots of tools good deal

My rear tires were very \-/ tilted...

Smoker 11-19-2013 11:49 AM

U musta gone and got her then. Good deal. Ifn I wasn't stuck at work I'd come meet for coffee.

Should be last working day at this job. Hoping to take 3 days vacation for the last of my notice period and then start the new job Monday. More $$s to spend on car restorations :).

vstech 11-19-2013 07:27 PM

Yes I went and picked it all up. it all fit in the 190 easily
And the 190 achieved 32 miles per gallon the whole trip.took 16 gallons and I had 80 some on the tank prior to starting out. when I got into Raleigh, I put 5 gallons in the tank so I'd not have any issues with fuel. made it all the way back home, then on to Gaffney to fill up at 3.42/gallon. total miles 515.7 total gallons 16.147 MPG 31.93782126710844 or DANG close to 32mpg...

Diesel is $2.42 in Gaffney?

It's $3.60 in Columbia...

The power of small sedans! How much does the thing weigh...?

Here is what I hauled home in our Corolla last fall... there are five in the interior and three in the trunk. Since then I've also carried a set of W126 front seats stuck in upright positions. Harder than you'd expect.

I did that once in a 71 eldorado convertible.
Mistake was trying to do it with the top down.
I was picking straw out of the interior for months.

the box empty likely weighs around 100#, there was a large kobalt socket case 1/4-1/2 " sockets, with metric and SAE sockets, and combination wrenches... a small 3/8" SK set, a bunch of drill bits, pliers, screwdrivers, tape measures, and a ton of random china impact sockets...

tools likely around 300.00 worth, the box is very nice, well worth the trip.

I"m not convinced the cart is actually a Matco box... it's solid, for sure, and the slides are nice, but NOTHING I've found on matco matches this one... and there is no logo on the box, just the words matco in vinyl
could be, as the drawer lock is very solid, not a cheezy button or something... a solid locking slide.
I think it's going to be a GREAT addition to my shop.

Congrats! I've got the midsized MAC set of boxes, called the Racing series, gotta be at least 30 years old, then I have a set of crapsman that was a good price. Could use a third set but holding out for another MAC or a MATCO, I really like the quality of the pro boxes.
