I feel for you, so close but so far away. Don`t toss the 28# FW, there will be some one that will want it sooner or later.

I thought I found a 300D FW a couple summers back. I came across this 123 in PNP with a 5cyl NA engine, with a 4-spd. YEAH Baby, my 300D FW. then notice it is a 240D. HMMM...well they could have just swapped 616 eng for the 617 and used the 240 FW, or just maybe they found this 5cyl out of a Euro car with the 38# FW.

If I pull the Trans, it will be a 240 FW, but...if I walk away, it could most likely be the heavier 38# FW. what to do, what to do....???
So I tear it apart, and it is the 240D FW. well might as well keep it, but after dropping it out of the car, the Ring Gear is all chewed up. and the transmission wasn`t in the best of shape. and to top it off, it was 100deg in Sacramento that day.

So ya never know till you jump in and see what it is...

Then later on I found the 38# FW in a 81 300D in Carson City, Nv. PNP. it was cold, wind blowing and snow..... but I was focused.

So keep on searching the yards every week, one will show up. we are now one behind the Easteners.
