I replaced both lower ball joints on my friends '98 E300 today. From the time the wheels left the shop floor on the lift till they touched the ground, was just about 28 minutes. Only a few tools were needed. This is one of the most mechanic friendly ball joint jobs I have done. If I had my camera handy, I would have taken photos and posted a how-to. However, a cave man could do this job, so a how-to may not be necessary.....Rich

In other words, it's so easy it's worth considering Uro brand ball joints! I imagine cavemen had better sense :)
