Sighting: C230 turbodiesel

There is one around me. I saw it once on the highway and thought surely it was a hack but last week I was at Home Depot and it drove past me in the parking lot. Surely its gotta be a canadian import right?

Not sure they ever sold a C-class diesel in the Great White North. It could possibly be an embassy or consulate car? That said, I don't recall seeing anything branded C230 diesel on my numerous trips across the pond. C200 and C220 diesels are all over the place in Europe.

It might have been a C220 or C240? It was a C2?0 and not a C200.

W202. Regular plates.

The US got a w202 C220 for a couple of years. It is a gasoline 4 cylinder. M111 engine I think?

There was a w203 C240 for quite a number of years. It has the small variant of the M112 v6 - 2.6 liters. Smooth and reliable, but the fuel economy is disappointing.

Which is why I assumed the turbodiesel tag on the car was aftermarket. There was NO denying the klatta in the HD parking lot tho. And silky smooth at that. I guess it would be an om605?

The OM605 is the 5 cyclinder of 2.5 liters, so the car would be badged C250. It could also have an OM604 of 2.0 or 2.2 liters, and be the aforementioned C200 or C220.
