‹RO news link = Hell has apparently frozen over. I thought this type of stuff would never happen after the divorce from Chrysler.

I sure wish that we knew precisely which part it is that they are speaking of. If the local MB dealership would let my dog in the parts room, he'd find it. He loves to find and 'mark' anything that smells like ‹rine.

Another thing: Did you notice their choice of wording in their press release? Even they don't have confidence in what they produce!

"...We hope this project will showcase our ability to produce OE quality products..."

Well, we HOPE so too! (But I'm not counting on it!)

Did you guys see this? Show News ("$500 Cash for Any New Part Idea We Use")

I sent an idea to them. I suggested that they make parts which have more durability than the cardboard boxes they're packed in.

How long do you think it will be before I get my $500?

You need to be careful with what you say ... otherwise you'll have the likes of Tram and tjts1 on your case (the URO cheerleading squad)

You'll never see that money. The challenge says they have to use the idea.

If that happens, I can't wait to hear tjtis1 tell everyone how HIS URO engine ran perfectly for more than 500,000 miles, while everyone else's URO engines fell apart because they and their mechanics screwed up in maintaining them & installing replacement consumables like thermostats and oil filters

URO quality is like the inverse of mainstream normal manufacturers.

A company like Lemforder has maybe like <1% failure rating on their products or some such number.

URO has a success rating on their parts at the same <1%.

LOL.

tjtis1 would disagree with you. He has a 100% success rate with all URO products he's installed on his car, and he believes (per this post) that any URO part that fails, is always the result of DIY/mechanic/installer error, not the fault of the part quality itself.

I have long wondered how he has been so lucky, given the extensive array and number of URO parts he has installed in recent years.

It is the aftermarket parts equivalent of winning the lottery ... rare when people select the right numbers, but it does happen. So I do have to give him credit for his prescience & talents in getting flaw-free URO parts.

So if tjts1 is a 1%er, why isn't he driving a Maybach, or at least an S63 AMG ?!?!?

I dont think URO have any part that is a critical service item for a Maybach.

edit: wheel lugs etc dont count.
