Rear lower control arm.

Please correct me if I am not in the right area. Im not positive what part of the forums to post this.

I have a 300D 1984 model (w123) and the drivers side lower control arm has developed a slight fault and I am looking to replace it. Been looking at junkyards online and see that a lot of them populate their parts lists with ones from a w126 rather than the 123. Is this still the same part? If not what models do I need to pay attention to?

So long as you get the first generation W126 part then it is the same part as is the part on the W114 / W115 and R107

I think you might get a better deal if you do a WTB advert in the for sale / wanted section of the forum though

Mercedes Used Parts For Sale & Wanted - PeachParts Mercedes ShopForum

There are also aluminium trailing arm versions of this part - don't buy those unless you are prepared to do some extra fabrication work on the the anti-roll bar

Trying to fit an aluminium W126 / 107 trailing arm to a W123 - a question of compatib

If you are in southern California I got left and right from a Yard in Sunnyvale CA. At the Time they claimed they sold a lot of them to the east Cost as the Ca Cars don't have the bad Rust issues.
However, the the shipping has gone up and both of them arrived with bent Back Plates. At least one other person has mentioned the Back Plate being bent when He received his from another source so I may be a common problem shipping them.

Due to the shipping cost they are an item that is more economical to remove yourself from local Junk Yard.

All the backing Plates in the PNP type yards are trashed. they pull the wheels, and then throw the cars on the ground before setting them on the stands.

Trailing Arms are around $45 each, you pull.

well none of the junkyards around here seem to have any. ive found some in junkyard inventories online for 45-60ish but i have to call for shipping quotes and i only seem to recall when i am busy or late at night. if any of y'all want to quote me a price and shipping to 72916 (its a busness address if that helps) that would be great otherwise im just gonna get em shipped from a junkyard somewhere.

also what bushings do i need to buy as well? too broke to do more than fix the bare basics needed but my understanding is that those are needed.

They are the same....

The parking brake cables vary, but 90% odds the yard hacks it off...

There should be plenty around Fort Smith, AR 72916.

I have never found any parts for my car around here. I have called the two big local yards on several different parts and they never have any. There is a self pull around here but I stay away from it because I get annoyed enough fixing my own car much less having to remove it from another car first. Im not a mechanic by choice but rather by the fact I can't afford not to be.

The closest I can find is 120 miles away which is outside go and get it range when all I have access to is a f350 that would kill me on fuel. So at this point location is not all that important.

Oddly enough the two big yards around here are both closer (I live on the northwest side of fort smith) than those two to me and not in fort smith but rather Moffat, OK. Roberts salvage and R&S Auto parts. They are quite large but never seem to have any 300D parts

I would try

Rick's Used Auto Parts
10005 Hwy 45
Fort Smith
(479) 646-6733

and

Rice Used Auto Parts & Sales
7810 Bonanza Rd
Fort Smith

often these yards have trade agreements = can get it to your local yard.
