Beware beware beware.
I promise you, you won't be happy in about 5 or so months, heck I say a lot sooner.
Decent paint for a whole car and not clear coat needed paint is about $100 a gallon or better. Junk paint can be had for cheaper, but it fades and never shines good.

Eta:
To do a good job and not as spray and pray.
Just to prep the car would take 1 to 2 days.
And to tape it off at least a half day.
Just in labor on A mediocre job would be 8 to 10 hours times their shop rate.
Then you have paint and shop supplies, $275 just don't add up.

I was thinking same thing until read that it was for just one fender. As a guide get Maaco to quote. They will have several grades of paint. The price will not include any repairs but they may convince you do complete car!

I had my 300D done by Maaco about 8 years ago. I had them do their best quality. The job included two new aftermarket front fenders plus quite number of rust repairs. Cost me $3000 and overall it still looks great. Others quoted me up to $5000. I have since had touch ups done in a couple of places (sunroof and two wheel arches), but both minor.

A local guy I use charges C$200/panel. He may even do complete fender for that. Does a good job and blends in if needed.

No - Last Chance (the welder) is not a paint shop - they send their restoration work out for painting. They didn't do any work on the outside bodywork. It was still good.

Maaco did original paint job including some rust repairs about 8 years ago. They went out of business! I had touch up repairs to bodywork done by a small local paint shop a couple of years ago.

Grunt - That's not bad for quality work. MAACO is so-so work for a DD that you just want decent so that's a different quality for a lower price. Your guy is right on the prep - you can't paint properly by taping around stuff. While you sometimes can get away with it there's a tendency for the paint to peel and/or fall off at the tape lines. You also end up with poor surface quality in areas like between the mirror and glass - you can't get a consistent pattern out of the gun in areas like that. Sounds like you'll get a real top-notch job.
