anyone seen any good sprinter forums
I'm thinking of buying one and have been trying to sort out what engines came with what years etc. Professor Google doesn't turn up many forums and none that have a lot of volume. Perhaps that is typical and due to not many of them being around.

85SD 240K & stopped counting painted, putting bac together. 84SD 180,000. sold to a neighbor and member here but I forget his handle. The 84 is much improved from when I had it. 85TD beginning to repair to DD status. Lots of stuff to do.

Thanks, I'll keep digging. My first impression is that many on the Sprinter forums don't do much wrenching. Apparently, there aren't enough of the vehicles sold.
Sprinters also have no tranny dipstick and fluid level is specked by flluid temp and measured via a temporary dip stick. Also no reference on the forums to engine number 60xxx. There is an inline 5 & also 6 depending on year. WIKI says "detuned OM612 thru 2006. I'll mostly consider 06 or earlier because of price unless there is a reason not to. Now to find tranny info.
