Air Filter shock mount nut

Hey all! 85 w123 300tdt
I am looking at my air filter housing shock mounts, and noticed there is just threaded lag and no nut. I have looked at other pics of other peoples air filter shock mounts and noticed the same. Is there supposed to be a nut on there? it's shaking around a bit but i am hoping after a valve adjustment this will go away.
Thanks!

The mount like pictured below is threaded to take the rubber mounts and no nut is necessary. I just welded mine and fixed it so as my filter housing does not sit slanted as bad.
A nut is necessary to hold the air breather housing to the rubber mount.

The rubber mount has a threaded bolt on both ends.
One end slides in the air breather housing and then a nut holds it secure.
The other end screws into the air breather mount like pictured above.

The aftermarket cheapo brackets may not have the best threads. On my old 300sd I had to install nuts to keep two of the mounts from moving in the bracket.

I ended up putting a nylock nut on one of mine, even though it has threads on the mount.

It kept rattling loose.

Just curious.
How did the rubber mounts like I have (I guess you speak of the rubber mount)
Pictured above vibrate loose if the nuts in the air breather canister are tightened down correctly? Or are you speaking of the metal mount that bolts on above the intake
and exaust area?

There should be a nut on the bracket and in the air filter housing. The one on the bracket side helps keep the rubber mount secured so it does not come loose and destroy the threads in the bracket.

Rr, the nuts inside the housing were/are fine. The threaded part of the rubber buffer that screws into the bracket continues to work its way loose on mine. So I put a nylock on the bottom. The one furthest to the rear, can't get a pic, but there is room on the buffer.
The one in the pic is of the one furthest to the right side of the car.
