w126 rear defogger half working
 

1983 300SD- Only the top section of my rear defogger is working. It clears up pretty quick but the bottom part never clears up. Where should I check first to trouble shoot this?

Mine too, I have some de-lamination at the bottom.

I imagine a new windshield is in order, but I just replaced the front one.

the problem with a 126 defogger is it's between the sheets of glass... there is no way to repair it.

Back in the day (before rear window defoggers) my uncle had an AMC Ambasador that had a aftermarket rear window defogger. It was basically a clear plastic sheet with the metal wires in it. At any rate, the wires broke, but the thing still worked because there was a layer of air in between. Just saying,,,
