Bang for the buck, best injector?

Looking at getting new injectors for a 220D 1971/1980 240D. been looking at all the options and was curious on what folks here find to be the best. Also would like to know why they are better if you don't mind sharing.

Thanks!

A forum member here, Greazzer, does an awesome job with these. He's doing mine now. Everybody who has had injectors done by him loves them.

The above and german made Monar Nozzles or some people go for the Italian Bosio Nozzles.

The Indian Made Bosch Nozzles still have not buit up a good reputation for them selves concerning out of the Box quality or longivity.

Look up some threads where I posted the diagrams of the Bosch Nozzle. The Bosch Nozzle has a tiny drilled Passage down the Center of the Pintel and another larger one up higher cross wise to it.

On My car and most of the Injectors I have pulled from a Junk Yard those passages have been plugged solidy with Carbon.

This makes Me think that even if you had a rare set of the Germer or French made Bosch Nozzles unless you are willing to do periodic Diesel Purgers to keep the passages cleaned out they are eventually get plugged.

The other alternative would be to remove the Injectors and remove the Nozzles and clean them manually or in an ultrasonic tank.

The Monark nor the Bosio Nozzles have the drilled passage to plug.

Having Greazzer or a Fuel Injecton Shop do the rebuild is batter because they try to balance them as close as is reasonably Possible.

If you decide on Bosio be sure to as the Member where the best price is as the common sources are on the expensive side.

Thanks for the responses. From what i have seen here and on other inter-webs the Monarchs really seem to be the bee's knees!

Diesel 911 is correct about pricing. Bosios are by far the most expensive. Even when I did a bulk buy a while back from a newly authorized franchise who was trying to make some gains by selling product, I still could not get the price below $33 per nozzle. I did get a free T-shirt however. Monarks are cheaper and they have German quality. However,, "Monark" is not really accurate either since they merged with DES about a year ago (not sure of German name off the top of my head, it's long and German sounding...lol). Bosch are cheaper but you run the risk of Chinese knockoffs. You can tell by taking a lighter and putting the heat against the plastic tube. You should see a bluish imprinted logo (take out the nozzle first). The other brands are cheaper also. Finding NOS Germans for off # types is even tougher. I did do a project about 1-2 years ago for someone who bought Chinese made nozzles. I got them to work just fine. A few tricks were needed but I figured it out by accident. However, they have no history to back them up. So, even assuming a service every 2 years, I can buy Chinese nozzels for around .75 cents a piece but no bites on those yet. LOL

Just make sure you're not paying more for a crap product. There's plenty of that out there too.

I'm trying out some Bosch France VW nozzles right now. They definitely fit the bang for the buck category of your question but haven't put enough miles on them to establish long term reliability yet.

It's the knock-offs which is hurting Bosch's reputation. Like I said, test the plastic tube to see if you get the bluish logo. If not, you got screwed.
