Anyone want a Grosser Bimmer with an OM617?

You can probably rest assured no one else has one.

Guaranteed to annoy BMW afficianados everywhere:

Isn't that one of the definitions of vehicular greatness?

Not quite sure on this swap. I also own a 540i, with about the same engine, and the M62 V8 is frankly fantastic. It's far and away the best part of the whole car.

I once had the grand idea of putting a OM603 in a 1994 Audi A8. I still would do it. I never liked Audi body styles, but this one caught my eye.

I guess it must have a 50' body since that's where he shot the pics. He'd do better to clean it up a bit.

Oh I don't know.

Its hard to imagine any car that would not be improved by adding a 617 turbo!

Ain't those things FWD, though? That sounds like pain if it is even possible.

I don't know... I don't think our Corolla would do well with it... or a Geo Metro. Sheesh, on the Metro, the 617 probably weighs more than the car itself.

Lovely. If your hobby is trolling BMW owners, this is the perfect car. I almost would buy one for just the joy of making BMW guys get headaches.

I'm wondering how the converted BMW gets 34mpg!
Maybe the car has been lightened by 1000lbs?
