Which is cooler: 6-pleat or 5-pleat seats?

12+ years ago, I had a leather henna interior '85 300 turbo. Ol' Yeller is a '83 with MB-tex. I find the seats to be pretty sticky in Ol' Yeller but I don't recall that being the case with the '85 with the henna interior.

I have it in my mind that, because the pleats seem deeper in the '85 6-pleat seats versus the shallower 5-pleat seats in the '83, the 6-pleat seats will be cooler/more comfortable because they might vent better.

Thoughts? Thanks!

Hmm.
I had an 85 123 with leather seats, but never drove the car more than on and off the trailer... I don't think it's a pleat issue as much as a material issue... the old mbtex was sticky on skin in the heat... but it also kinda sweat a sticky stuff if the car was parked too long before driving... keep the seats clean with AS303 and it won't matter!
high mileage mbtex tends to be smooth, and loses it's texture, so that could be an issue...

I think the stickiness has more to do with material.

My 190E has deep pleats but also MB-tex and can get sticky on hot days. My 300D (w123) is an 83 with 5 pleats MB-tex, also can get sticky.

When I apply Aerospace 303 properly (spray and wipe) the seats get slippery!

What???....you guys driving nakid??? no wonder you stick to the seats.

When it`s hot, I don`t think it much matters how many pleats or if it`s leather or MB Tex. The best would be Cloth seats or slip on some Sheep Skin covers.
