I had a really hard time searching for this on here, so I figured I would pass on the info. For those of us with the factory installed block heater, this is the exact cord for it. It fits in and threads on to the factory block heater as MB intended. The only difference between this one and the dealer cord is there is no insulation, but I don't think it's necessary. It's easy enough to install and remove that I will probably just remove it when it warms up and reinstall the cap.

For the record, this is the same cord used on Ford/Dodge trucks as well as many tractors and semi trucks.

There are two types of cord. From what I have seen. the later cars have the screw on type, but on earlier cars the engine end just pushes in. Definitely check before ordering. After my engine was swapped, the screw on cord would no longer fit. Never got around to buying the push on type. Use magnetic sump heater when need be. If I forget it is on, it automatically removes itself as I back out

I did a Google Search and hit the Mother Load of where to get the Cords, saw your post and thought I would share what I had found.
