Haven't thought about flying out there but I looked into amtrak....it would cost 150$ to get out there...but the problem is that the car has no glass in it, four flats, missing tail light and no plates...I can use the plate off my car and the tail light.....but what about the glass...

My grandpa has a 350 ford van here in town...old one....i think it would make it but if he would let me borrow it...is the question....if I used that...no rental fee...no hotel fees....but it may be a gas gusler....

dasautoshippers.com estimates $530 from their depot in Fremont, CA to a depot in AZ, guessing Phoenix area. $1100 driveway-to-driveway which hopefully doesn't require driving it on public roads. $300/$900 from Van Nuys. Guessing a 1200 mile round trip to SoCal getting 15 mpg (optimistic for an E350 without towing) is about $300 in gas. Maybe you should split it - ship to Phoenix, tow to Page.

If you end up just shipping it, my family owns a car dealership and uses a shipping company called United Road, they are based in Washington state but have well over 100 trucks in their fleet and travel all over the US, I know they give much better rates for a dealership than you would get just calling for yourself
If you're interested, PM me with pick up address and drop off address and I can get you a price, no matter who you go through though, shipping a non running vehicle will always be more expensive.

Maybe there's a thread where you describe this, but how did this situation develop where the car was stolen? And its at a chop shop that's giving it back? Are police involved?

Attaching a tow bar to the bumper on a 123 is strictly a no no. You'll pull the bumper off the shocks in a heartbeat.

Its a very long and emotional story....I kinda went into it a bit in this thread....there are so many haters out there attempting to start a fight I don't want to go into to much detail....and hope whom ever reads it can be nice enough to keep hateful and nasty comments out or pm me with them.

thats a heck of a series of disasters, Im sorry to hear about your father and your partner. Thats a major blow.

I hope you get this worked out, it seems the guy sitting on the car is being reasonable about it though, giving it back to you without too much trouble.
