75 w115 300d heat side vents only
Hey all I hate to be that guy but i've researched a lot already and well, tired of being cold.
Back story. It's an ac equipped car. Heat comes through vents good at speed. I just replaced the thermostat. I just realized the AC fan was blowing and not the heater fan. Played around a little and now I have a good heater fan. Thank god for that, it turned on no noises or anything. So now...I have heat at idle which i didn't before. But cold air is still coming from the center vents. Any tips for me? Hopefully i can just remove the glove box or something and access a stupid little vacuum pod. |

Center vent
The center vent is only for fresh air or recirculated A/C, not heat. Just close it with the slider switch. The benefit of this system is to allow stratified air supply, as in heat to your feet, and fresh/cold air to your face if you get too hot/flushed.

Thanks.
Ive got to find a way to seal that flap. I get lots of ice cold air coming out of that thing. I'll get this car warm :-) |

Playing around a tad. Good heat. Got the glove box out and for sure that flap doesn't want to stay shut. I'm thinking I can adjust the linkage but gotta get a longer screwdriver. Keep ya posted...

well id post a pic but it's too simple.
Without taking anything apart one would be able to adjust the linkage by sticking a phillips head through the vent and turning clockwise. The flap now stays firmly shut allowing no cold air through. Success and heat! Checking fuses, adjusting linkage, playing with knobs, this old girl still has heat. I just wish i spent the 30 minutes on this two months ago. duh. |
