Oil seal on fuel pump (linkage) W126

Hi All,

I am trying to locate an oil seal for an injection pump (1985 W126 300SD). The seal I am interested is on the outside of the fuel pump, that seals the fuel pump case to the accelerator linkage shaft (on the driver side not the passenger side of the pump). It is covered by a washer and a snap ring. I have a slow oil leak from there. I am attaching a picture of the seal (the picture is taken of my spare fuel pump with the washer removed) - the red arrow points to the seal.

If anyone knows a part number or a parts diagram/list for this fuel pump, please let me know.

Take care,

Greg

I don't think there is a Mercedes part number for that. Mercedes sells a complete Gasket Kit for the Pump; or at least they show a picture if it in the parts catalog.

What you are looking at is actually sort of a modified square crossection section O-ring. The Crossection is actuall sort of X shaped with rounded corners.
If you use somethind dull like a Paper Clip bent to sort of a flat Hook you can insert it in and carefull pull out that O-ring.

You might simply try substituting a round crossection or Square Crossection O-ring in place of it. The Oil that is in that section of the Fuel Injection Pump is not pressurized. So, it really only needs to grip a bit on the Shaft.

In any event any Bosch Fuel Injection Shop would have them. They may even give you one as the Gasket Kits often cover several models and you end up not using all of the O-rings.
Where I use to work we had about 4 gallons of various sized O-rings left over from Kits that we did not use.

Her is a pic of a X cross-section O-ring

It could be some Hydraulic Shops have them.
