9mm wrench in San Diego?

A 3/8" flare might have enough grip if the nut isn't frozen in place. Hopefully there's room to tighten the flare with vice grips if the nut is good friends with the MC.

Well, the master cylinder is a 10mm, but the bleed screws are 9mm. Seems though the leak is stopped.

You don't need a flare nut wrench for a bleed screw. An ordinary combination wrench will work fine.

To be clear, the box end of a combination wrench :)

I know, any wrench will do.

Had an idea! Grandpa has been gone for over eight years and was the opposite of handy, but knew out in the garage was a couple tool boxes. To my surprise when I opened the small one, it was crammed full of odds and ends of tools! :eek: I found a one inch long pair of pliers, a one inch long adjustable wrench, and a three inch long adjustable wrench. So, will try in the morning.

What do you mean? With A.S.D. social skills have been getting better as I learn from folks like you. :P

Observation one: Craftsman tools are not junk. They are more than adequate for the needs of most DIY mechanics.

Observation two: Are you familiar with the old saying about beggars and choosers?

Observation three: any hardware store will sell you a 9mm, and many pawn or secondhand/thrift shops have loose tools for sale.

Say what you will about me and my suggestions, but whunter is a professional who feels Craftsman wrenches are good enough to bleed brakes.

Possibly would like someone to show how they are turned also.

Most of the products made in China are junk, for which 95 percent of Sears are. I now only buy Wright or Matco, or other tools made in the U.S.A. or Germany. If it is something light duty, then I might risk it. I own tools made in Japan, Taiwan, China, and Germany, of which the first two came with the Squareback and were therefore a gift, for which has got a lot of use.

So what was he giving me? I am really confused...

Speaking of which, I am also confuse why an adjustable wouldn't work in a pinch? I know the loose part can snap, but doubt they be that rusted?
