Memory came in '83 or '84 but wasn't optional. Leather and seat heaters were optional.

No, no problem -- sorry if I was curt.

I can confirm that in 85 memory was available... no idea if it was standard or optional... I have an early 85SD (still has the side grille hood lift latches) and it has memory... I've also worked on a customer's 85 late model, and it had memory, and I ALMOST got a white 85 that also had memory...

Obvisouly she needs some upholstery work, and the clear coat is peeling. Ive found a few spots were it starting to rust but no spots that are rusted through.

Looks like a solid foundation. It appears the previous owners used the interior as a zoo for elephants. If you ever want to replace the dash let me know as I have developed a set of written instructions on replacing a dash in a W123 that I would be happy to send you. Bill

OT at this point but motorized headrests came into the picture between in '83 or '84.

Can sedan seat components be made to work with the coupe folding mechanism? Even if it doesn't fold, a nicer seat will make the car more enjoyable. Rear seat passengers can get in from the right.

No need to replace the seat frames. Palomino upholstery is the most popular color for the 123's, so just replacing the upholstery (seat skins) is all that is necessary. If you can find a car (or cars) in the wrecking yard (any 123 body style) with good upholstery, just remove the covers and replace them. I try to find passenger side skins and use them on the driver side, as they are much less used, and fit either side. Whenever I go "wreck'n yardi'n", I grab any good seat covers I can find, as I will always find a use for them.

EDIT: BTW, you have the most sought after color for the 123. Do what you can to save the paint (light sand and clear coat if necessary).
