I think it is DupliColor that makes a spray paint for calipers.

I do have a can of DupliColor but I am most concerned about how I treat the metal and prime it before I do the top coat.

The DupliColor paint I mentioned is specific for brake calipers. The instructions on the can describe the cleaning process before you paint the calibers.

Thanks. I'll check it out. This is helpful.

I've had little luck with VHT paint - the instructions for which say you can't use anything underneath...

...I'm about to try the Eastwood calliper paint to see if that's any better

I have been forced as a final option to remove a few thousandths of an inch from the edges on new MB brake pads, the other option is a shipping delay to order another set that may have the same issue.

It is thankfully not common, but does happen.
My best guess is random MB supplier Quality Control issues.

The mandatory (for me) requirement is filing the caliper box to remove all corrosion, BEFORE any thought of trimming the pad.

After market brake pads can and some brands commonly do have dimensional Quality Control issues.

It is a shame - in the old days I'd have said take it back to the shop and complain...

...but who's got time to argue with people about that these days?
