lol. no. try 300k+ miles, little PO maintenance, bad bad blowby on cyl #1, driving it like i stole it, and who knows what else. i've been too busy to do wvo for about a year. when i bought this car, i expected it to die on me within 6 months or so, and i think that was 6 or 8 years ago.

oh, we're home now.

Starting from the left side of the 2nd pic, the cam shaft is broken just where it enters the bearing, the left 2 rocker arms have come loose , the right two are flipped over the cam.

Either the chain jumped and valves hit the pistons causing the cam to break or the connecting rod bearing on the left cylinder was so bad it allowed the piston to hit the valves so many times it broke the cam.

as far as cause goes, when it happened, i was accelerating on the highway. i had been going 70mph and then floored it to get into the flow of the fast lane. boost hit, and then it quietly lost power sort of like a sudden fuel cutoff. no bangs. no thud thud thuds. not even something you would feel through the car.

If the pistons & valves didn't "french kiss" you might be able to slap a good used head on it for cheap and keep going. Same time, if you had a cylinder that was a bit weak, might as well slap a whole good engine in.

Skippy~ As for perception: Drive what you like and can afford. Those who don't like it can supply vacuum to one of your components. LOL

If you need parts, I have some!
