AC strategy question - diesel Ram

My 00 Dodge Ram needs a heater core and the AC compressor bearing is squealing. I can get a new Denso compressor below wholesale. What else should I change to have a complete service that will be trouble free ass/u/ming the job is done correctly.

Compressor, receiver/dryer, evaporator, expansion valve? All of the above? Anything else?

Receiver/drier and orifice tube for sure.

May as well do the evaporator while you're in there, especially if it's the original. At this point, you might also consider a switch to R12- it's easier on everything in the system.

Really? An AC thread this week? You must be bored or getting ready to drive your Ram to South America. :D

Sounds like a bearing is going out in the AC compressor and my heater core is leaking. I may as well do it all. I "may" be able to install a belt for those trucks without AC and ignore both the core & compressor but I'd like to be 1 step closer to reliable. This was/is an expensive vehicle to own - way worse than a cheap Mercedes.
