OM615 Left Engine/Motor Mount NLA: Alternatives?
Hi, my 1968 w115 220d (OM615 engine) is supposed to have a "square" engine mount on the left side (part 6152230112, see first pic). This part is no longer available (except perhaps at the dealer for $150-$200) and I am trying to figure out other options. On the right side, it has a more normal looking mount (part 1072410913, see 2nd pic). Does anyone know if I could just use two of the right mounts? The bolt pattern looks similar, but I don't want to disassemble my car to find out my assumption is wrong.
I am not too worried about it being too stiff with the wrong mounts, as long as they fit and are safe. Other w115s and w114s of the same era have both mounts that look identical to the right mount in the second photo. For instance, the w114 250 uses the 1072410913 shaped mounts on both sides. I have attached the page from EPC which lists mounts for the 220d, and 250 in case that helps. As with most of us, I am short on both time and money, so I don't want to spend the time manufacturing anything from scratch. I recently acquired two OE mounts (the 1072410913 style) and I am trying to figure out for if one will work on the left side of my engine. Thanks for any suggestions.

If you can get them to fit there should be no issues cuased by a stiffer mount.

Thanks guys for the suggestions. I always forget to search for a part on eBay both with and without spaces in the part number. For the price, I will probably buy one on the off chance I am unable to use my two OE right mounts. That way I can definitely complete the job one way or another. This job will take place well down the road, but I will report back.

So the title of my thread is a little incorrect. After Noah posted that ebay listing above, I poked around a bit more on lesser known sites, and found it at:
Mercedes 220D, 240D Left Front Engine Mount I am not sure if PP will let that link appear as typed, but I honestly don't feel classic garage is a competitor of PP. They are only selling a few parts to my car, but it happened to be the one I needed. It ended up being a genuine mercedes part which mercedes sells for $150-$200, but only costs $22. Score! I will post a comparison of physical dimensions of the two mounts in my original post at a later time, to let you know if they are in fact interchangeable. How do people feel about using NOS rubber parts on their cars? Did I waste my money because the rubber has probably degraded?
