Does anyone else want it to be colder sometimes?

I don't know about you guys, but it's been 0°F, 4°F, 4°F the past couple of days when I woke up. And since my DD (84 300D) is in good shape and was prepped for winter, when I glance at the temperature gauge on the dash (from a w126) and it only reads 0°F, sometimes I wish it was colder, just to see how the car would handle it.

I'm pretty proud of my car. One glow until the relay shuts off and it starts right up. No block heater, no coolant heater, oil heater or anything was used. (I've use the block heater in the past, but right now the extension cord has to be run into my townhouse and my wife hates closing the door on it.)

I love my car.

sounds like you've got good compression, properly adjusted valves and a well functioning starter. sounds like a real keeper.

To answer your question, not merely no but HELL NO!!!!! I moved to coastal NC to get away from cold, which has worked fairly well though it's been pretty chilly lately. Overnight temps in the 20s (F) are way too low but it does kill off some of the bugs.

Only crazy people deliberately live in cold areas (I was one of 'em for 57 years or so but I got better).

No -6 tonight with -25 wind chill. That is more than cold enough for me. As a matter of fact the conversation came up at work and more people would like to give A. Gore a kick in the gonads for that stuff he was spewing than embrace him.

It dropped in into the 70s this week after last week's heat wave. No, I don't want it to be colder.

I wish it got colder also. My current coldest temp to have walked the local JY at is +8... I want to get that into the minuses. The PO of my car started it down to -6. I want to replicate that.

Cold air is actually very refreshing if you have a good jacket on. I do.

it does sharpen one's appreciation for the first fine weather in May.

the tops of my feet still bear the faintest trace of Teva tan leftover from a summers worth of Newport

Senor Loco - Your sense of humor is loco........ Might want to try the Anchorage PnP.

Or as my Mom used to say, "Every man to his own taste said the old lady as she kissed the cow".

Mine too . How are your Tevas holding up? My first pair was getting messed up after one year but this current pair seems to be doing better.

It's not a sense of humor, its bragging rights . I also have a nice coat (an $80 Land's End kids extra-large that I got on sale for $12 four years ago) that keeps me warm. The only problem is when my lips get stiff enough that it's hard for me to form coherent words. Then I know it's time to leave soon.

Also, the yard is consistently completely empty when it's >10, which means I can sign and talk to myself without freaking out anybody in the vicinity.

tevas

as I wear them more or less exclusively May-Nov, I get about 2 years out of a pair. Yachties I know wear the thong style as they are easier to kick off before going aboard, but I require something that also will stay on my feet while climbing ladders & walking dogs etc.
