It Felt Like A Bad Flex Disk
On my 1995 E300D when I start out there is a slippage and a vibration from the rear. I have replaced at least a dozen Flex disks over the years and just replaced these about 1 1/2 years ago and was all set to do the job again because it feels exactly like a worn flex disk but when I put the car on the rack all the disks and center support looked new.
Oh God! Could it be the trans? 240,000 miles on the car. Any thoughts? |

My E300D makes a similar noise when starting out at full throttle. During a normal start, there is no noise.
I have not been able to figure out where it is coming from. It has been happening for about 18 months now.

Trans mounts?
Differential mounts? Driveshaft carrier bearing? Did you inspect the flex disk bolts? Sometimes they are worn...a lot.
