Mrs. Doktor Bert's New Benz:
5 Attachment(s)
Picked this up for my wife...this officially replaces the 300SD.
2000 MBZ E320, original owner, 70,000 miles, meticulously maintained. Now, I can drive my (less than 100,000 original owner) 1995 BMW 525i daily, Mommy has a nicer, more modern car, and I can drive my Supercharged 2001 Mustang GT (the 425 horse toy) on special occasions, and not subject a $7,000 show quality refinish to the rigors of daily driving....:) So, after losing $1/4 million on a 2011 foreclosure and having to turn in the new cars, we are getting back on track financially and have zero car payments... People ask me to ride in their cars sometimes and ask me how I think it performs, but when you have 400 RWHP in your daily driver, everything else feels slow..:D |
There were pictures here before - where did they go?
The W210 looked nice, however, as Mrs Bert is driving that one is this a way of saying you prefer a BMW 525i? |

The W210 is certainly faster than the E34, as it should be, with a 3.2 vs. a 2.5 straight six, but the E34 handles and brakes better, and gets better fuel economy, which I like. I am just happy to be driving something with new paint that allows me to keep my Mustang safely in the garage...:) |

The E34, while not having quite the torque/acceleration of the E320's 3.2 litre straight six, certainly does have impressive top end performance...
I traded labor to build (2) jet ski race engines for the E34 and traded labor for the paint and body. As of today, I have $130.00 total cash investment in the E34... |
Nice purchase of the E320, but it looks like a pre-facelifted model. Can't be a model year 2000 E320.

From your pics, it doesn't have the updates that the 2000-2002 W210's got.
It's got the pre-2000 instrument cluster, front bumper / air dam, and door handles. It's also missing the body kit below the door sills. Still a wonderful car, though. |
We love it, whatever it is!!!!!!!!!! LOL!!!!!!!!

I'm a big fan of the W210's. I'm on my second E430 (the first one was totaled by the insurance company in a very minor traffic accident). My mom also had a '99 E320 just like yours for a very long time. She put about 150,000 trouble free miles on hers. On both of mine, I went through brake stop switches and throttle position sensors, which are very common repairs on these cars, but thankfully very inexpensive and fast to replace. On my current E430, I also had to replace both rear window regulators, which also appear to be a common repair. In any event, these cars are quiet, refined, powerful, and get good mileage. In my V8, I got 25.9 mpg in 100% freeway driving going to Las Vegas at 75-80 mph. Overall, i consistently return 19-20 mpg in mixed driving. |
Those are respectable mileage figures and after only one day of driving, the E320 already seems to be getting better fuel economy than the 617 did with the boost/fuel turned up.

Doing the RennTech Stage 1 Power Package ECU Upgrade tonight on the E320. This program is said to be a 20 RWHP and 20 lbs/ft RWTQ improvement....And the E320 is already quick!!!

When the 617 came out, it was competing with carbureted engines for fuel economy and, in many cases, the 617 delivered better economy. But n ow, with the more modern engine management systems, the gas motors are delivering much better power and economy... |

I even installed a Dinan chip in my E34 BMW....:D |
