Bruss is an MB OEM. They make, for example, the M103 and M104 timing chain cover seals.

My vote goes for FEQ axles. Even though they are Chinese made, they are a really acceptable product for the money. I've had zero problems with this brand.

It's not like I have to "tool up" to try this, there are hangers that use martial like sidewall, that's what gave me the idea.

FEQ is nearly identical (if not coming out of the same factories) as APA / URO. All three are junk. It's not likely you'll get more than 2 years / 24kmi out of their axle shafts, compared to the typical 25 years / 250kmi (or more) from the OE shafts. For most axle shafts, just get a good used one from a junkyard that has the boots intact and no play in the joints.

w123fanman is correct. Don't get a Febi (or Meyle) part if it is a rubber component, or if it has rubber bushings (i.e. front or rear suspension arms).

Lemfoerder, Metzeler, Corteco, and SGF are generally the OEM's for most suspension/rubber items, and you can't go wrong with Mercedes OE (factory/dealer parts).

If you are only seeing 'naughty list' brands, you are shopping at the wrong vendor(s). Some vendors only show junk for certain parts, and you will need to buy from multiple vendors to get the 'good' stuff. That place in Arizona is adding more and more Uro/APA/FEQ junk to their catalog, making it difficult to shop there...

yep the AZ place and pelican was showing stuff from the don't buy list.... i guess i will see what i can afford from my friend that works for Mercedes, even with his discount stuff is crazy money sometimes but my plan is to ride this old gal until she turns to dust so maybe not so bad spending double for something that may last the next 30 years...... shoot i should have been a song writer.

Doing my flex disks is on my agenda for this year I hope. I have one brand new in the box Febi disk from 2005. Is that long enough ago that Febi was still selling quality rubber parts? Would that rubber deteriorate just sitting in the box? The disk itself says Made in Germany on it.

I got a Febi boxed flex disc in summer 2012 and it was a genuine SGF, made in Germany. Pics of mine are here. They grind off the MB logo and part number, but he SGF name should still be embossed.

Sounds like yours should be ok, but I'd feel better if it was clearly a reboxed SGF (OEM).

Just looked at my flex disk again and it also says SGF. I plan to order another one so I can do them both at the same time. Leaning toward the aftermarket houses that only list the part as O.E.M. I am told that means basically what you said and that the parts are not made in China. I've got an e-mail to that effect and will return the part if I find out otherwise.

Brilliant move. I wonder what possible excuse they could have for banning 500E board dot com, which as you correctly stated DOES NOT SELL ANYTHING. The original thread was titled 'vendor quality list' which was not accurate, it was changed to 'manufacturer quality list'. Methinks an over-zealous Fruitbird admin may have simply looked at the title, never clicked the link or confirmed anything, and pulled out the pooferator obtained from the old MBCA email lists...
