The New Tow Truck

Mods can delete, since it's not a Benz. Picked up the new tow truck, and forgot to post about it. It's a 12 Ram 2500 Limited, of course with the Cummins. Got a great deal, can't complain about that. The 05 is now for sale, since I don't need two trucks.

Didn't want the new truck, but were sort of forced to buy it. Going to take it to Florida soon to pick up the CD.

Here's a pic of mine. I got it new a couple of years ago - with 167K miles (it was new to me).

I predict you'll love it. Mine's as tough as nails though we did have to freshen the trans (auto) - now modified to be as tough as the rest of the truck.

Since you are *towing* a Benz with it, I think the thread qualifies to stay put.

Nope. LSR (it's my "Thing"). The truck's been 117.8 and held the record for a while at The Ohio Mile but another guy showed up with the big injectors (motorhome injectors are a hot mod for these) and he now holds the record at 120 and change. My truck is surprisingly stock with just a lowering kit, a tonneau cover, and an Edge tuner. So not much past stock.

Hoping it does well on long trips. I suspect it will. I've already towed another Ram truck, so the CD will be the second vehicle towed. Longest tow, for sure.

I've given passes to practically ANY thread that's diesel related... and your cummins is DIESEL, so it's fine in here...

it looks great by the way.

Thanks John. The 05 is a SLT qc, 4x4, heavy duty package, cummins (of course) with 89k miles on it. New Michelins, new batteries. We are the original owners. Asking 23k.

Beautiful rig, congrats!
Your "old" truck will make someone happy, that truck is brand new with that kind of mileage. The asking price sounds fair, I sold my 06 a year ago for $20K with 170K+ miles. Best domestic Diesel engine IMHO.

You've got a beautiful, low mileage truck with an acceptable color choice for me! I think your asking price is quite reasonable! I'm actually looking for an 08+ Ram Cummins truck within my price range and color choices. Of course, I won't be buying until I sell my current tow truck.

Thanks guys. I bought the truck new in Sept, and it's got 1900 miles on it. Definitely don't drive it much. The other one has been for sale for two months, with no interest.. I find that sort of depressing.

Advertise and be patient, I was offered $10K at dealers and a wholeseller friend of mine said at the most he may be able to get me $13K. I advertised on ebay and Craigslist, put for sale signs on it and drove around and also parked it at the Home Depot during the weekends. Funny enough, the person who bought it was from Maine. Texted me on a Saturday morning. By the end of the day and a few pictures and videos after he had given me a Paypal deposit and within a week we was picking up the truck for almost twice the amount the dealer wanted to give me for it
Cant say it enough, be patient, the right buyer will show up.
Have you advertised it in the cummins and other diesel forums yet?

What does the towing part of the truck look like??? Do you tow for hire, or is this your personal tow vehicle?

Pretty truck!
