Strip fuse on 1981 w123

I have looked and looked and looked and for the life of me can't find the 'strip fuse' for the blower motor I don't have power to the #8 fuse but when I jump it over from #9 or #7 the blower motor works something fierce can someone help me locate this thing I feel like I'm going crazy thanks in advance

power source

The power for the fuse comes from the key switch. When mine went bad i replaced the key switch and installed a relay to handle the load instead of the key switch. I think this was a mercedes modification.

What model is this car?

What climate control system does it have?

I am not aware of the w123 models having a strip fuse for the blower...

Hmm in 81 the blower was on a 16 amp fuse. if the blower has bad or dirty bearings, the fuse can fail. I'd pull the blower, clean and lube the bearings, and reassemble, then pull the fuse, and clean the contacts for it. then replace the fuse with a new ceramic fuse with copper or tinned brass element.

The fuse is good I don't have power on either side of it

ahh... no power TO the fuse... perhaps there is a relay? or like mentioned above, the keyswitch is damaged?

F8 fuse is fed from its own contact on the key switch. Live only in Position II.

I doubt the live side from the battery is bad as this same contact set carries the start command when the key is in position III.

Terminal 15x on the key switch. Red/yellow wire.

On a 240D fuse #5 is unused. If the points on #8 are burnt you can transfer the wires on the back of the fuse panel from #8 to #5.

There is a fix out there that uses a Bosch motor meant for a Volvo. The motor fits with minor modification and is cheaper than the MB motor.
