Window Stuck 2 Inches from Top. 1992 300D

On my 92 300D, the left rear window goes up and down, but stops firmly two inches from the top. So, I imagine it's time to replace the regulator assembly....only lasted 22 years and 253k miles....go figure.

Using two people, we tried to raise the window past the point where it's stuck, to no avail. Does anyone know of a way, without diving into the door panel, to get the window past the point where it's stuck? I'd be happy to forego replacing the regulator if I could get it stuck all the way up.

Thanks.

sounds like its 2x3 solution time until its warmer, though I don't think you are gonna be able to avoid pulling the door panel on this.

Id pull the panel, push window all the way up, jam a piece of wood in there to hold the window closed fully, disconnect window motor from wiring, forget until spring.

I think you are going to have to pull the door card.

On my W210 with the wonderful cheap mechanism that looks like it was cut from a soda can, at least they were thoughtful enough to provide a hole in the rail at the right point to restrain the slider in the up position. Just the right size for a zip tie.

it looks fairly simple to change the broken part that stopps the window.... you may be able to improvise a fix for it once you get in there.

You may well be able to fix without buying any new parts but removal of door card is required.
