Can W210 cabin filters be accessed via engine compartment?

I see that the standard method for replacing the W210 cabin filters is by removing the glove box. However, I've noticed that, on some other models where that's the standard method, some find it simpler to go through the engine compartment.

Would this method work with my W210?

Your links are not for W210's.

Charcoal activated filters are behind the glove box, I think the cabin filter is up under the pass side foot well cover.

Yes, I knew that....just wondering if same approach would work.

I believe it's the cabin filters that are behind glove box. PeachPartsWiki: Cabin Filter Replacement

On the 210 you can only access the cabin filter through the glove box.

Go through inside cabin by removing the glove box by removing it - be certain ALL screws are removed from the glove box surround before pulling on it. You'll think the mofo has a mind of it's own by how it doesn't want to give up staying in place as you pull on the glove box.

That's good to know....I'm always afraid I'm going to break something that won't budge....I wonder what causes the resistance.

On my '99 E320 (gas) there was an electronics box on the right side. If you opened it up, pulled out four or five boards and then removed the box itself, you'd just about be able to touch the cabin air filter. When the mouse took up residence, it was very happy moving between the air filter enclosure and the computer enclosure. Sort of a $50,000 Habitat.

I ramble...the answer is, no, you can't.
