1982 300SD muffler question

Hi Guys!
Today I was working on my shot driveline center support housing and after dropping exaust down I found a few lagre corrosion holes in the muffler. So can somewone tell me wich compatible models I can found on a local pickandpull? Does it has to be a diesel? Thanks!!!

I would think it would have to be a diesel. Another alternative is putting in a straight pipe for the one with the holes. There will be a bit of noise but I like the sound of it and you might get another mpg with less backpressure.

You will be looking for a 1981-1985 300SD. A 300D may work as well depending on the part that is rusted. Are we talking about the muffler at the rear or the resonators in the center?

That center Muffler is the Kidney shaped one. That one could just be straight piped, and then leave the rear one on it should be quiet.

As mentioned, 81 - 85 300SD is what you would be looking for, for the center one. The rear "may" be the same as a W123, but the short pipe going into it would be a different bend.

I have seen the W123 mufflers cut open, and they are a straight through design, so there shouldn`t be much back pressure.

Most of our PNP`s out here cut off the exhaust systems before they are set in rows.

The SD has two center mufflers and the one rear one.

The epc shows an SD rear muffler as just for that chassis, not that a 123 won't work, but the hangers may be in different locations.

EDIT:
While you're there, inspect the down pipe accordion pipe and everything else involved.
