Yessir. Let me know if you see the brain over there in CA. I think it was escaping to the warmer weather for a vacation.

Stay upbeat

You're certainly not alone Stretch..
My ex did a lot of damage to the kids during our 23 month divorce and lots since...her payback? the kids got wise to her lies, don't see her very often and have a close relationship to me. I took the high road and wouldn't talk ill of their mother...my kids now ask me why! I've since remarried and my kids consider my wife their "mom"... much to the great frustration of the ex.

Her name is Ursula...as in the Little Mermaid Sea Witch

Take the high road and hug your kids! Better times ahead!

Two years ago was the start of my divorce process; still remember some advice my lawyer gave me --- "different people divorce at different speeds". At least, part of our property division was fairly simple; she didn't want any of my old diesel stuff.

Hang in there.....

Thanks again for the concern - as said above - great community here.
I somehow guessed that was the problem. Hopefully you can get things sorted out in an equitable manner. Money and "things" should be easy enough. But kids are another thing, especially if the exes end up in different countries.

It's hard to shed the emotional part and look at it from the exes point of view. An intermediary may help. This is one DIYjob I would avoid.

It will get sorted out and kids will be grown up before you know it.

All the best.

Sorry for the troubling news Stretch. It is mighty good to see you back on the board though. Hang in there.

He puts a staggering amount of work into the DIYs he posts: research, the actual repair, the excellent photography and the concise writing.

If he could do tech drawings as well, and were so inclined, he could be the Mercedes world successor to Muir, the guy who wrote and illustrated those great VW repair manuals back in the 1970s and 1980s.

I have that book right here!! Put many VDubs back together with those drawings. Classic!!

I wish he did a w123 version, it'd be perfect.

If my brain's going to Hawaii, I'm going to Hawaii. Good idea, though.

Maybe I need some glow plugs implanted in my head or a block heater in my bloodstream .
