Any idea what this mystery hose connection is for??

There is a steel line that has a hose connection right under the back door on the drivers side. there are pinch hose clamps on the hose and one has been moved back on the hose and something looks to have been removed, any ideas?

The fuel tank vent is one possibility.

yep that's it, that's where it would be if it was there, i have had the back trunk/tank cover off and there isn't any marks on the tank so pretty sure it never imploded, or maybe it was replaced... this car has many layers, maybe i need to name it after an onion.
