Looking for an OM606 injector

Preferably no-good / trashed, or otherwise unwanted.
I want to fabricate a prechamber puller and use the injector body for the base.

I have not been to the Junkyard for about 3 Years but Injectors out here were $5 each at that time. They might be more or less in Pa.

The official MB tool is M22-1 on one end & M22-1.5 on the other end. Can't remember which end is for which engine, but one side is for OM61x and the other side is for OM60x.

You could purchase these as metric bolts, and then weld to them what your slide hammer is threaded to. Pulling these prechambers requires a LOT of force.

Out of curiosity why are you looking to pull? Timing?

If your Injectors are threaded right at the Bottom and your Prechamber Rings/Collars need the Splined tool to get them off you have the Engine with angle Injection and that uses the M22-1 end.

616,617 and newewer Engines with the Prechamber Collars/Rings that have 2 slots for the Prechamber Ring/Collar Tool have Prechambers that take the M22-1.5 end of the tool.
The Injectors from the above Engines have threads about 3/4 of an inch from the bottom of the Injector.

D9:

Can you clarify some? could you explain what Mxx-x threads go where on what threadings: collar nut threads & injector threads on 616/617 and also on 601/602/603/604/605/606?

I don't fully follow your last sentence, could you explain it a little differently? Are you saying that the official tool threads into both spline nut threads, and also injector threads at the same time? The prechamber tool for a slide hammer that I have scene only seems to thread once.

The problem for Me is I don't know when and on what Engines they started using the Angle Injection on.

If your Injector looks like the one in the Picture the Prechamber has M22-1 threads.
Also you will need a Splined Tool to remove the Prechamber Retaining Ring/Collar.

On all of the other Engines the Prechambers have a Prechamber Retaining Ring/Collar with a slot. On those Engines you cannot use an Injector to Pull the Prechamber because the inside of the Prechamber Retaining Ring/Collar is what the Injector Threads into and those threads are M24-something. The Prechamber on those is threaded for M22-1.5 and that is the size puller you need to pull the Prechamber

For the Prechambers that have the slotted Retaininer Rings/Collars M22-1.5 is what you need and there is a few write ups on using a Bicycle Hub Puller to make a Puller for the Prechambers.
You also need the Tool to remove the slotted type Retainer Rings/Collars

With Both thread sizes you mentioned Metric Bolts are not common.

Absolutely D9!!!,

I understand that I must calm myself when frustrated at Home Depot/Lowes, but why on earth do I still get suggestions of non-metric tools and parts at ALL of the auto parts stores! I am a calm person, but I nearly loose it each and every time I go to an auto parts store, and they keep trying to recommend standard bolts and fasteners to my automotive need. I just cannot take the stupidity anymore.

1 cubic cm = 1 ml = 1 gram if water = 1 calorie of energy to raise the temp 1 degree C

I dare any of the "Metric is bad!" people today to walk me through that same example above in the English system. I'm against government intervention in our daily lives, but if they are going to regulate everything else they can start by banning the entire usage of the English system starting tomorrow. Maybe our school kids can finally begin to catch up in physics/chemistry/science/math then because they can finally start to conceptualize it, and work through homework problems.

I bet Dr. VonBraun nearly had daily aneurysms when he took over NASA & was undertaking the race to the Moon. I don't know how the guy kept his cool dealing with the fitment and adapting problems with contractors coming back to him when their square and square root up-scaling and down-scaling didn't work.

Anyone else agree or disagree?
