Good looking car, my friend's grandma had one just like that when I was in high school.
I just LOL when I saw the Uhaul trailer, a few years ago, I bougth a Nissan Sentra for my wife in PA. Instea of having th car shipped, I (we) went to pick it up so I rented a UHaul trailer exactly like the one in the picture. The UHaul guy wasn't much help explaining anything at all, plus it was pouring rain when I picked the trailer.
After closing the deal I drove the car onto the trailer only to find myself trapped in the car. The car was obviously lower than the trailer fenders so the door would not open. Long story short I had to climb out thru the window and leave the window open. After a whole lot of huffing and puffing and all the embarrasement of the scene, I tied up the car and got on the road.
Mid way home we stopped to get something to eat and to my surprise when I went to check on the tiedowns I saw the rubber latches and the hinges on the drivers side fender... what a moron moment that was.

here are a couple pics of the inside. it's in pretty good shape, though there are lots of cracks on the dash and some wood coming off. luckily i have the other car for the wood. maybe i'll get one of those dash covers. first aid kit still has all the stuff inside! i love the stereo but will maybe update the speakers.
If you're upgrading the speakers, I would try to find some (4") ones. I just had some sitting around and they happened to fit. Try to find some without tweeters that stick out too far, otherwise the speaker grill wont be able to close all the way. If you wanted to remove the wood from the glove box, you are going to have to remove the locking latch. It is kind of a PITA to remove (I've never gotten it).

Great looking car though!

Guacamoli or tequila?

Yeah the engine number is located at the oil filter side of the engine toward the front. Its hard to read..

Your Becker radio alone is worth about $350, so you probably did well.(maybe more if it has the aux. amp)

Go to the audio section of this forum and do a search for w123 front speakers.
Last year I used that thread to identify a good set of front speakers that are sold on flea bay.

Looks like your seats need stuffing !

Next on the agenda I suppose (?).

Nice car.

Those radios are nice....but no way worth that....rebuilt and restored yes...if this one has issues, rusty face plate...the value drops...

Sad I see your interior had the same issues mine had....all your horse hair padding has crumbled into dust and now you have springs and skin....aka bulimic seats

Yes, the seats could use some stuffing. That's somewhere on the list (and vacumming the horsehair). The driver's seat sags to the left a little bit. I put new speakers in my 78 a few years ago so will swap those out once i deal with some basic engine stuff. Would also like to get one of those aux inputs hooked up.

Got a couple of the doors fully closing. Really difficult to remove those latches. The metal on the bolts is so soft.

Maybe it'd be easier to swap out the entire glove compartment door rather than the trim?

This shifter is really bad. Can't wait to fix that.

If you change the door, the lock wouldnt be the same. I believe there is a way to remove the things inside of the lock to change the lock for your key, but at that point you already have the lock gone.

Take the belts out and bring them to any parts store. They have a gadget to measure length, angle and thickness. Belts is belts, Goodyear, Gates, or Mercedes, they're all going to give you good service.

replaced the shifter bushings. much better now! and didn't have to climb under the car which was great because it was pouring rain.

i'm having some fuel leaking issues from the top of the banjo bolt (the older style one). i tried the bolt from my old car - both have aluminum washers. replaced the o-ring. tried a new washer but it was the wrong size. i've read a lot of threads on this but does anyone know the exact size of this thing? i thought swapping it out would help because i never had a problem with my old car.

other leaks too but this is the worst one.

here's an odd dilemma. i want to put the steel wheels from my 78 on the new car. but the bundts are in good shape and the tires look pretty new so i'd either want to hang on to them or sell them. but at some point i'm going to need to roll the 78 out of here. any suggestions? i'm not experienced with parting out/junking, etc.

If you have the space and time, parting out is a good move.

If you locate a new style fuel head, replace the one you have.

If anyone knows where to find one in this size, please let me know. I'm having trouble locating that washer.
