A nice milestone for Bodhi and I tonight

Even though it doesn't seem like much when scrolling through the mileage roll call thread, I thought I'd share the milestone I reached with Bodhi this evening. As some of you know, this car has been part of my life for 27 years -- my dad bought it new when I was 5 -- so this really means a lot to me.
I can't say enough how much it has meant to me to have the advice and encouragement I have gotten from members of this forum. When my dad gave me this car I never would have dreamed I'd be rebuilding a rear suspension or restituting a rusted-out wheel well, or even just taking care of all the simple maintenance. I don't think I would have gotten that far without you folks, and I mean that in regard to both the tech support and the camaraderie. So, thank you all.

And there's video: 1987 300D odometer rolling over 300,000 miles - YouTube

Nice! Congrats!! Your odometer looks so clean for that many miles. Have you had it apart for a cleaning? Mine has a mild coating of what looks like soot, which darkens some of the white numerals. Maybe this summer I will clean it up.

Nice one - though lay off the Pink Floyd you are way too young to be getting all morbid and moody. If you have to have British musical influence I suggest a bit of Calvin Harris to perk up your driving experience.

Jooseppi, yes original trans. My indy did the seals around 220K because it was leaking but no major issues yet (knock on wood).
RML, I've never cleaned the inside of the cluster ... maybe just being garaged for the past few years has helped? The needles are definitely pretty faded, but it doesn't bother me as long as they all match.
Stretch, way too late I'm afraid. My dad used to listen to Pink Floyd all the time when I was a kid, I remember hearing The Wall in this car when he had a "car discman" mounted it in and one of those cassette adapters. As Mike pointed out, I balance it with a LOT of Muse. And a few other Englishmen (Arctic Monkeys, Frank Turner, Keane, Coldplay). My iTunes library is decidedly British ... no Calvin Harris though, at least not yet.
