My 1986 Mercedes Salesman's Kit

After purchasing Coda, a 1986 Mercedes 300SDL, I decided to dust off my old 1986 salesman's kit and check out what it had to say about the 300SDL.

My father was a salesman in 1993, I have a lot of similar stuff from then. I'll have to dig it out as well.

Interesting the 1986 300SL is listed in there.

Nice! I've always loved having a few pieces of period sales material for any older car I've owned. Kind of fun to go back and read.

Too bad Mercedes Benz forgot to mention the "cracked heads issue" for those fine cars of theirs.

They did more than mention it, there was an entire campaign built around it. Besides, this is sales material that was published prior to these cars being manufactured/sold en masse.

Even so, witness the amount produced that remain on the road to this day! 25+ years later. Now, wanna give an example from even 10 - 15 years ago, doesn't even have to be an automobile. Ya, ain't easy, is it? These cars were fine examples of automobilia, irrespective of one early and corrected flaw.

Thanks for posting this. Cool to see it wasn't just tossed per the modern way.

+1 for getting it scanned digitally.
