New ignition lock for the W116 does not house the replacement tumbler. I now have $200 paperweights on the bench: New ignition lock along with a replacement tumbler...
The tumbler is the issue so my question: Does a new ignition lock for an 1981 W126 fit on a 1980 W116? From pictures I have seen they appear similar; the only difference being is the location of the vacuum actuator for diesel are on the opposite side. Are there any other members that have successfully replaced the ignition lock on a W116 with a W126 ignition lock?
