Unhappy Accident with our W124 TD - So sad.

We have enjoyed our 1987 W124 300TD and today with an impact from another car, we come to the end of our journey with this great car. Is there any interest to take possesion of this for parts? Engine ran perfectly, trans shifted well, car rode well. We drove it daily. I'd love to keep it for parts and get another, but have no place to keep it.

Please let me know, comment or inquire as you wish.

We are battered a bit, but happy that we walked away from a 40-45mph t-bone.

Car is Located in Chantilly, Va. I don't wish to pay storage and do not currently have a place to take it.

I hope you are all still OK - often after the incident the aches and pains begin.

That car looked after you well - it looks like there was a nasty ripping action impact thing going on

Wow! But for the grace of God go I. The looks like a Hell of an impact to do that much damage. It also looks like it afforded you all the protected it was intended to provide.

Thank you all for the sentiments and suggestions. We are sore but ok. The DID indeed do it's job and protect us. Wow what a wallop.

Shame the Texas car is so far away from me. I'd get that and swap motors in a heart beat. No time.

Until all is resolved, I do not wish to discuss the accident. Safe to say, we were impacted at 90 degrees to the front left . 2-3 feet further back and the story might have been very different.

We are looking at a total loss since I lowered the insurance to basic coverage last year to reduce overall expenses. We only drove it once in a while. I am now questioning that decision. (we maintained full coverage on our daily drivers)

For now I am looking to sell whole but will consider parting it out. In a perfect world, I'd love to keep the motor and use it to repower a 4x4 of some sort, or Hot Rod a W123. I have other priorities as we prepare our home for market and to make a big move to Hawaii.

The towing and storage is just a tick under $500 after being towed and parked 32 hours ago. I spent most of the day locating a place to park it to be sold or disassembled.

Let the requests begin and I will do my best to remove parts. What ever I get will reduce the negative number as a whole.
