Starter failure/ ignition?? 1978 300 D Help Me!!!!
 

Thought it was just the starter,so had it replaced. A friend was kind enough :eek: to check the wiring at the ignition and
it came apart, I'm thinking he made a mess of it. I have zero knowledge the electrical workings of this car.

Anyway, he says everything is staying "Hot"( maybe a ground is bad) or something like that. Starter works fine outside of the car but when put in only clicks? Both my Mercedes(1987 300 TD, was having trouble cold start, now won't start, makes a strange spinning noise) are not running I'm at my wits end... Any mechanics in the portland area that could take a look see? Help point me in the right direction, cash/trade in return for help. please, (batting my big beautiful brown eyes ;-)
