Sir francis Drake Rd is a nice drive that connects hwy101/ San Rafael to the Tomales Bay. Also the town of Bolinas is not far from there. There is a Mercedes diesel in every other driveway of that town it seems. It would be a sweet ride.
I picked up moms new car from a lady in San Rafael. It was at a shop on Sir Francis Drake Blvd. That sounds like a perfect drive, everything will come full circle.

If you'd like to google up the route and post it here that would be excellent!

I would have to pin my vote for the 31st. The 17th is autocross at Mather AFB, so if the Mercedes is done I am going to run it. If not I am going to run the Mazda. Or maybe a CRX?

I would like to attend my first M-B meet, if not too far from Sacramento. My son has my better 300D in San Diego, but I don't mind driving my "rescue 300D". May looks open. If you want a drive, the loop around Folsom Lake, up Salmon Falls Rd and back on Auburn-Folsom is nice. I was surprised how well my 85 300D tracked thru the curves when I did that years ago. My first vehicle with IRS.

This route looks good to me. I googled it, here is a pictuer of the map for us visual learners

How does this route sound to everyone?

Would we like to meet in Santa Rosa or Sebastopol?

Is there a good parking lot we can meet at to BS before we start the drive?

Also, My mom and I have locked in the 31st as the date of this meet. Is that good for the rest of you? if no objections lets make that official.

My mom and I will be entering our cars in a car show the weekend of the 24th in the town I grew up in. If anyone is in Lake County that weekend and would like to stop by. Its at the Jellystone Campground. I'm not sure the details of the event, my friend is in a classic car club up there and they are putting on the event. They're all a bunch of American hot rod type guys, but I took my car to one of there events a few years back and met a few diesel geeks like myself, so its worth going again.
After our car show we're going to make a week long road trip to the Classic Center in Irvine, and see friends along the way. we'll end our week long adventure with y'all at the meet we're planning here! This is my first vacation in over a year. I can't wait!

I am in San Francisco and would like to tag along for the trip, meet some like minded diesel people and get some good ideas.

My car....... 1984TD, light ivory with palomino interior, slowly working on getting it back to where it "otta' be".

Please post the meeting time and place when it is finalized.

Santa Rosa

Santa Rosa X2
My buddy, Markus, who might come along lives there.
I can ask him where a good place to meet up would be.
